Holds a Master’s degree and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia. He brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate legal compliance, regulatory advisory, and foreign investment structuring, with a particular focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), downstream oil and gas transactions, investment facilitation, and Good Corporate Governance (GCG).

Muqthi has advised a wide spectrum of domestic and international clients on the establishment, structuring, and ongoing compliance of foreign investment operations in Indonesia. His practice is distinguished by a strong command of Indonesia’s regulatory framework and hands-on experience in navigating complex approval processes, licensing regimes, and post-establishment compliance obligations.

He maintains long-standing professional relationships with key government authorities and policymakers, including the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), line ministries, regulatory agencies, and relevant public institutions, as well as local and international chambers of commerce and business associations. Through these engagements, Muqthi has been actively involved in policy-related initiatives aimed at strengthening regulatory clarity and improving Indonesia’s foreign investment environment.

Muqthi also played a strategic role in an investment climate reform program funded by the European Union and the Government of the Netherlands, which focused on enhancing regulatory effectiveness and developing practical frameworks to better serve European foreign investors operating in Indonesia.

Muqthi Ali is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, with working proficiency in Arabic. He demonstrates strong professional capability in both written and spoken communication and regularly advises domestic and international clients, conducts negotiations, prepares legal and regulatory documentation, and delivers training and presentations in English and Bahasa Indonesia. His language skills support clear, accurate, and effective communication in cross-border and multicultural business environments.
